St Helena island to Salvador

We left St. Helena in good spirits with Muddy looking better and hopefully good trade winds. But after 2 days Muddy became sick again and the wind became less and less to ZERO. The Atlantic osean was mirror calm. It was a great experience, but also nerve wrecking. We did not want to use the diesel in the beginning of the crossing, so we had to wait it out. This gave us time to swim, do some maintenance and watch a few movies. After 3 days we decided to motor 10hrs and hopefully come out off this area. At last the wind slowly started again. We had a vistit of hundrends of dolfins at sundown 300nm from land, then birds became more regular and at last Jaco caught a fish. I were still staring in the wake of the boat when I saw something big and not a dolfin: a blue Marlin. It was swimming for a while behind the boat, then it went for the lure with Christelle shouting no!, and Jaco yes!, yes! We were moving too slow, the Marlin gave a jump out of the water and swam away. At 4am on 21 December, 35days after we left Walvisbay, we sailed into Salvador.
