Cumuruxatiba

56nm south of Santo Andre.

We left our anchorage in the afternoon on the 27 th at high tide to steer safely out of the very narrow and shallow entrance of Santo Andre (pic). Then we anchored once again just outside the river behind a reef for the night to leave early the following the morning for Cumuruxatiba. At sunrise Jaco caught a small Tuna. On the menu was sashimi for sundowner and blackened tuna steak for dinner. We arrived at sunset at Cumuru, a lovely beach, clean, colorful and friendly town. The anchorage can be very roly during springtide and is far from the beach. We enjoyed an ice cold beer at Chico’s bar at any hour of the day, even 8am! There is a community internet for free, but one may use it only one hour per day. We had lunch next door at a cheap por kilo restaurant (buffet meal where they weigh your plate and charge per kilo). (About N$70 for the 2 of us plus a beer) We stayed a week and had to wait for the wind to turn north.
