Maceio

The worst anchorage in Brazil is at Maceio. We think it is only protected if there is no wind! We could not leave our boat the first 4 days due to the swell and the fishing boats around all drag anchor. One night one of the fishing boats dragged anchor into us. It damaged the front rail , took paint off, broke the wood toe rail and broke the back rail. We got hold of the anchor rope and cut it to get rid of the boat. The landing for a dingy is worst one can imagine. You land INSIDE rubbish dumb. Even our dogs did not want to walk from the landing to the street. We had to carry them! We rather paid a fisherman to take us ashore as we did not think our dingy will be safe.
