Isla Totuga / Cayo Herradura (N10˚ 59.582; W65˚ 23.747 3m deep in sand)

We spend 3 days with my parents, sister-Tana and husband-Andre and their kids Louis and Lourika, in PLC for exploring and to stock-up for the trip to Tortuga. They stayed next door at Aqua Vi Hotel. This is a very good hotel with a lovely pool area, but again sad to see the deterioration.
We left PLC at about 4h30. It was the first time for the Burger family to sail on Songerie. Jaco planned some sport fishing for Andre and dad, Polla, with the new, interesting lures in very famous fishing waters of Dorado/Mahi-Mahi and Wahoo, while I planned to show Tana more about chart plotting and navigation on a yacht, since she is a pilot and familiar with navigation. We also had a good selection of music ready on hard drive to add to a Caribbean feeling.  None of the above realised, because against our recommendation, no one took motion sickness medication…..  . Jaco and I had one of our best sails ever. The wind was on the beam, very little swell, Songerie was heeling slightly and doing good speed. The 2 of us enjoyed a couple of beers & biltong while the Burgers hanged over the rail calling G E O O O R R R G E! Mom laid inside focusing on one stripe of the Zebra striped saloon cushions and dad sat in front starring at the horizon, not daring to look away!
We dropped anchor at 4pm at Cayo Herradura. The Burgers went ashore as fast as one could launch our “wild cat”. They pitched a tent and spend the rest of the stay on the beach.
