It was a  downwind sail from Tortuga to Los Roques  in light winds. I had both lures in the water, trolling for Tuna, mahi mahi or wahoo, when the next moment the reel was screaming and I was slowly tightening the drag .... with no result, I could see the 300m 80lb braid rapidly disapearing. A huge marlin broke out of the water ,doing a tailwalk! By now I had to stop all the line going out so I use my thumb to slow the reel, the marlin did the tailwalk again ,shaking it's head and with only a few metre of line on the reel it broke, luckily at the hook, so I got the line back.
Los Roques is probably the most famous destination in Venezuela and we were excited  as we entered at Boca de Sebastopol. We also knew that if the park authorities wanted they can charge us about U$ 190 for staying here. This is not in the budget of  Yapa and Songerie  would rather spend that on wine so we had planned the anchorages according to have the least chance of being seen by coast guard.
We entered in good light and it was amazing to see the different blues in water colors and blue-green reflected onto the bottoms of the clouds!
We anchored at the first spot called Buchiyaco .
Hicham caught a big tuna and that evening invited us for Sashimi starter , we helped with cutting the meat and provided wasabi and soysauce.
The starter was so good it turned into a main meal and we finished half of a very big fish!
This was another one of the memorable meals together with Yapa.
