Isla Piritu

We left paradise at 5h30 for Isla Piritu 60 Nm to the south.
Lure from Polla & hook from Ian Wingate
This is a convenient anchor spot 18 Nm from Puerto la Cruz, enable one to be in the marina by 10 O’clock before strong winds make manoeuvring difficult.
Light winds  in the face forced us to motor sail the 11 hours. We saw big marlin jumping and chasing something (not our lures).
We were lucky to catch the last big one , another beautiful Mahi-mahi bull of little over 8kg.

Muddy watching every move

Sashimi (Muddy always in the picture)
We had a starter of sashimi that was so good it almost went to dessert!
What was  left of the fish was made into a potent curry, during the evening my coming birthday was celebrated , some good wine and good rum enjoyed , a special glass broken and would-be pirates successfully scared away!

clowns or Rambo's?
This lovely evening brought an end to an unforgettable trip, all what was left was the 3hrs motor to Puerto la Cruz  to tie up at the marina.

The last night was like Peter Sellers in “The Party” when we showed some last kick until the taxi driver came at 4h30 to take Hennie and Mattie to the airport.
