ISLA MARGARITA
We stayed two nights on anchor at Porlamar
and loaded the boat with Chilean wine and champagne and Venezuela rum. We knew tax free
wine in Porlamar was the cheapest to find in the whole of the Carib.
The next day we anchored in Juan Griego,
nice small town on north shore Margarita
We were now looking for good weather window
to leave for Blanquilla and Dominican
Republic . In the mean time we visited the
castle on the hill overlooking the anchor spot.
The weather window came after a few days
and we left for Blanquilla.
Wind and swell was big but Songerie handled
it well and we averaged 6 knots for the 63 Nm trip but no fish!
