Isla Beata

sailing trough the canal.

Anchor spot N     W     ,  3m in sand
We  left very early to make sure we will arrive in daylight. The canal de Beata a shallow canal between the island and mainland had us worried as there was some swell running.
Our “cruising guide “ was very vague about what to expect. But alas all was well and we even caught a smallish Barracuda.

Baracuda Braai.

Isla Beata anchorage is a really beautiful spot in cleanest water you can imagine with a small fishermen community  on the beach.

little "conch" fish

We stayed two days and dived conch  and saw the dreaded Lionfish everywhere!

We were keen to get to the next” not to be missed” place : Bahia de las Aquillas 20 mile North West. We got the international despacho for Ile a Vache  from the Marina de Guerra
