Ciudad Bolivar, January 2014

We stopped half-way at a traditional Restaurant to enjoy this smoke-grilled beef and pork.
There were no public buses available early January to return to Ciudad Bolivar.  We met up with another couple to share a taxi for this 8 hour drive.

We checked into Posada Don Carlos, in the heart of the historic quarter in Ciudad Bolivar, 200 meters from the Orinoco River. This colonial mansion were carefully restored by its German owners, combining traditional atmosphere with modern conveniences. One can choose from sleeping in a hammock to staying in rooms.
The Posada is artfully decorated.

The city's first bridge across the Orinoco,  is called the Angostura Bridge
Ciudad Bolivar today serves as an important port on the Orinoco for Guyanese and eastern regions of Venezuela.

The historic town of Ciudad BolĂvar is well preserved.

After visiting all sites, we were ready to go home to Songerie!
