4 days in the Hoariseb river, May 2014

The “rivers” in Kaokoland are usually dry and only flash flood in rainy season. Due to the rock formation and underground topography there is a lot of fountains in these areas.

Our perfect camp site in full shade 24 hrs!
We camped in the riverbed, usually close to some fountain to cool off, because it can be really hot. There are a lot of dry trees to get wood for big campfires.

We (Christelle) were kept awake at night by the calls of Hyena, Jackal or Lion!
