splash and shake down, April 2015

Quickly touching up the last paint patches.
Almost there.
Leaving port.
After 6 months on the hard we were eager to try all new equipment and get away from the marina.
We cast off early morning for Mochima for a short shake down cruise.
Spectacular sunrise.
We stopped for a dip and light lunch at Playa Manare.
YEH...., One can actually find beautiful and safe anchor spots with friendly local restaurants in the most feared Venezuela!!
The cocktail bar.
We have been cruising these waters on and off for the past 4 years. Everybody say we were lucky, but we never felt any danger, only extremely friendly fishermen and locals.
We avoided the danger areas like the waters between Trinidad and Venezuela and some anchor spots at mainland.
Last meal with Kennith and Monika, Phil and Yvonne at our favorite Puerto Vejo Restaurant.

We met with Chaser 2 and Kennith and Monika for the last time at Mochima, before they all join the big migration out of Venezuela. The following day we motor sailed back to Puerto la Cruz.
We had to get the last things ready before our friends arrive to join us on a cruise to Curacao. (We also leave Venezuela.... shortly)
Sailing back to TMO marina under light winds.
