Curacao, June 2015

Just look how fast we are growing up!

Crumbed conch starter.
We saw a small gap of tad lighter winds on Thursday afternoon and Friday, 4 and 5 June. Friday morning after all water tanks were filled and Coco and Canela charmed all at the Marina, we set sail for Curacao. We had enough wind, but much less swell in comparison to our sail to Bonaire. Early afternoon we dropped anchor at Small Curacao for the night. (only 24 NM from Boanaire) A bit rolly anchorage, but according to all information we have, this would be our last night of crystal clear water. Early the next morning we weighed anchor and sailed the last 15 NM to Spanish water, Curacao.

Just before the entrance to Spanish water we caught a Barracuda and decided to keep it for a delicious Brazilian fish stew. (moqueca)

We were pleasantly surprised by the clean water in Spanish water anchorage. It is not crystal clear, but one can definitely swim here. We found a good anchor spot in the wind, but close to the dingy dock. After the anchor was set and we enjoyed our usual anchor rum, we got all paperwork ready for checking in. It took some time getting a bus to town and finding our way around. Despite getting only one month stay for Curacao, checking in at Customs and Immigration went painless. (Jaco will be waiting here for more than a month.)
Coco loved his first pork bone!

The next few days was spend cleaning the boat and settling in, before I fly back to Namibia on the 9th of July for 5 weeks. Jaco is looking after "Songerie" and the puppies. (or vice versa)
What is mom cooking?
