Venezuela, September/October 2015

One of the main reasons of returning to Venezuela was for Christelle to have a big operation and needed to be still for a month to recuperate.
This went well.

Some other maintenance like a new layer of deck paint and repairs to the chainplates took up the rest of the time.
Jaco noticed galvanic corrosion on the mast step and we had to unstep the mast to fix that.

Strange without a mast

Happy Birthday Christelle!

Cool but strange-looking dogs after a close shave!

Taking the mast off.

And back on a week later.

The last of the preparation before leaving Venezuela was to stock up: Mostly rum, a lot of diesel, serrano ham and pecorino cheese.
We were truly fed-up with the stuggle to get cash by the time we were ready to check out.
