Ilha Grande: Palmas
60nm west of Rio de Janeiro
We sailed this area twice and both times had very little to no wind. Also both times we caught only small tuna. The family except for Polla enjoyed the sashimi.
First anchorage was at Palmas. On our first visit we met Leo on sailing vessel Lahna and Hans and Annalize on s/v Setna.
This bay is beautiful with protected anchorage close to the shore. There are 2 small baracas (bar/restaurants) which are open in day time only. One can take a 30 minute hike to Praia Lopes Mendez, a popular white sand surfing beach.
