Amezone Adventure
On 2 April my parents and I left Jaco and the dogs on Songerie at Angra Dos Reis.
I joined them on a trip to the Amazon while Jaco had to look after the dogs and the boat. We went by bus to Rio de Janeiro, flew to Manaus and arrived at midnight at the hotel where we met up with Nardia & Schalk. They spend the previous week in the Pantanel.
We had one full day in Manaus city and left the following day on an Amazon boat cruise for 5 days, then one more night in Manaus before we flew to Salvador.
(During this time Angra and Rio were flooded by extreme heavy rain and wind. Niteroi had some terrible mudslides again. Jaco measured on Songerie aporx. 300mm rain in 24 hrs!)
