Northbound along the Brazilian coast.
We had to start the northbound because we had a little bit more than a month left on our 6 month visa.
“They” say one should go north in the winter time. The cold fronts from Argentina move further north and we need those southern winds to go north. The current south is also a bit weaker closer to the coast during winter times. Well what all of this means is in short: we have to travel in bad weather, strong winds and mostly rain. We waited on anchor at Charitas in Niteroi for a cold front to pass, and then the plan was to go on the tail of the front to Guarapari. We did not consider that during such strong winds, the swell picks up.
