It is incredibly easy for a yachties to book in to Grenada. One need to go to only one office and pay only N$180 and the dogs are welcome, they did not check any papers of the dogs.
Grenada is known as the “Spice Island” of the Caribbean. It was our first introduction to the gin clear waters of the Caribe. The island is very clean, people very friendly and the tropical forests hanging over small bays and clear waters make it almost paradise. It was also our first introduction to a mean Rum Punch.
We stayed for 2 weeks. We did not have lots of time for lazing around. Our time was spend mostly in 2 of the marine shops. This is another type of paradise for someone coming from Namibia. Jaco found most of the parts/equipment that broke in the past year. Like extractor fan for engine, new diesel filters system, bigger inverter, new fortress stern anchor, and many more. I got a brand new stainless steel stove/oven (also bigger than the old rusted one onboard). To celebrate one year sailing, we even had our fridge fixed!! What an amazing feeling to get an ice cold beer from your own fridge! (Well, this lasted only a few days, on the way to Venezuela it stopped working again…. Back to getting ice cold beer onshore) last picture University of Grenada.
