Rita’s eetkafee

The first morning we were surprised by Mieke from motor cruiser “Southern Cross” whom welcomed us at Domburg and gave us a file of all info needed about the area and custom/immigration formalities etc. The 16th of September being our 15th wedding anniversary, we thought to celebrate it at a nice restaurant. Upon landing our dingy at the interesting dingy landing spot, we found Rita’s eetkafee, went for a beer and something small to eat, we end spending the whole day there meeting a lot of sailors and enjoying cheap Indonesian food.
Every evening the cruisers meet at Rita’s eetkafee. During these meetings one gets information on Suriname, places to shop, camp sites and sailing destinations.
The landing spot is a wooden ladder from a tiny polluted beach (at low tide) and 2 trees to the disintegrating river wall. Depending on the tide to where you tie up.Picture of a meeting and Anthony of S/V “Wild fox’s farewell. Second picture of “Wild fox” departure at sunrise.
