Cayo Herradura

Cayo Herradura was once again a feast, we smoked some fish, BBQ more, got conch out just to take a break from fish and snorkel on the reefs.

One sundowner Chaser II invited us over for drinks and tapas. Tapa is a snack that is served with a drink in Spain. Can be almost anything from plain olives to elaborate and very tasty small dishes. The tapas on Chaser II was of the latter type, thru the evening we indulged in special pikante sausages, pate, cheese and much more …and topped with chocolate brownies.

Songerie crew has been collecting wood all over the cay and Chaser crew also got a few pieces to make it enough for a beach BBQ.
We started before sunset and made a nice fire (Phil thought it was big) and as soon as the coals was ready we grilled some steaks and veggies.
It was so beautiful the fire on white coral sand and small waves breaking close by.
Soon it was time for Chaser to return to Puerto la Cruz; we wanted to stay on for a while.

getting tips from an African

Before we left Namibia I got an old Ham radio as a present from Helmut Geiger, had it checked/fixed and installed it myself but could not get it to work.
Turned out the radio was locked to be used for only few frequencies. With help from my friend Google I got it unlocked and with help from Phil I got it tuned into weather forecast from as far as Colorado
