Coughing dogs
We planned to leave on our 16th
wedding anniversary for Mochima. We ended up spending the day at the vetinary
and babysitting our two dogs that evening! Muddy (Corinna only a little bit) have
been coughing the past couple of months. We were not satisfied with the
diagnose of the first vet (kennel cough) and went for another opinion. The
verdict after x-rays, blood tests and lots of using “google translate” was that
both have enlarged hearts and the pressure exerted on the thorax make them cough.
The reason is old age and the sickness is irreversible, but with the right
medicine they can still have a good life.
The only problem is the vet recommend that
Muddy must be kept quiet and not have any excitement! Try that with a dog that
is constantly chasing lizards and dolphin, is more enthusiastic about fishing
than the skipper and dig crabs like a machine!
