Daytrip to Jaji
Jaji
(pronounced Gagie) is a well preserved Andean town accessible by local
transport.
We took a
“por puesto” bus up a winding, steep, fog enclosed road to this small town with
many artisanos selling typical Andean crafts.
We got
pottery shot glasses and a woven handbag, James got hammocks and Anita much
more!
We had a
bottle of red wine in a beautiful courtyard before taking a dilapidated minibus
(with a brakes warning light constantly on) down the steep road back down.
Anita almost shit herself when the driver crossed himself before we left town!
We later
realised they always do that when driving past a church.
