The bus
took 14 hrs to get to a place called El Vigio, it was supposed to be a short
hop thru a tunnel to Merida,
but then the tunnel collapsed a few days previously!
It took
another 4 hrs by winding mountain road over a part of the Andes to finally
arrive in Merida.
We found
Posada
Montana
at Bfs 170/double room (U$22), a beautiful place with rooms around a plant
filled courtyard, very friendly reception and an excellent restaurant with good
wine.

Chef and waiter |
We all
liked the chef and waiter for many reasons; the waiter knew to let wine breathe
and pour in proper glasses, the chef made an ala James pasta sauce (no
tomatoes), Anita found the waiter pleasing to the eye, a very enjoyable evening
indeed!
