Mochima
We arrived before lunch at Mochima with no
fish, few hours later Chaser2 arrived and they got some fish.
When it was time to leave for Puerto Viejo
restaurant a big thunderstorm erupted and we had to dress with heavy weather
clothing and took the dogs with us to the restaurant.
Once again it was a splendid evening with
good food and the company of Phil,Yvonne,Suzie,Billy and Evie.
Chaser 2 left the next day for Medregal
marina while we stayed put to wait for Tradewinds .
That night at 22h00 we were in the cockpit
when a pirogue with no lights came to the stern of Songerie.
There were four people on board and they
came alongside and said they are police
and want to see our passports.
Two of them, man and woman was dressed in municipal
police uniforms and he looked at the passports (in the dark) and asked about
fire arms while she asked to inspect the boat.
We helped her on board and after a quick
look about she returned to the pirogue.
In the attempt to returned to the pirogue
she pushed the boat away and ended up in the water!
In the confusion that followed the pirogue
was pulled to Songerie again effectively pushing the woman under water and we then realized she could not swim!
The more we tell her to use the swim
platform at the back of Songerie the more the useless police man is laughing at
his hapless colleague.
It all ended without serious problems and
made a funny topic at coffee with Tradewinds the next morning.
We anchored one more night at Caracas del
Este before returning to Puerto la Cruz to make ready for the long awaited
visit of Anita and James.skipper Muddy |
