Getting ready to leave for South Coast

After 2 weeks at land we were ready to get on the sea again. We stock up with rum, cigars and some veggies. Jaco bargained again with the diesel price until he got 120liters @ 30c/l less than official price.

We had a good window to move East, cleared out at port control and left 4 am, Sat 6 April. As we left the gearbox started to make a strange noise. We turned around to sort the problem out while we are close to civilization. In short, Jaco took out the gearbox got it to a mechanic, whom fixed it @ U$100 by 7pm and build it back by midnight the same day! We rest a bit and once again left at 4am for the Jardines de la Reina!

The window was not perfect anymore and by 10am we had 15knts head wind. We tacked a couple of times and dropped anchor at 3pm at Ensenada Caballones. Fishermen came by and we offered them 2 cold beers, they were surprised and gave us 2 pan size snappers which landed immediately on the BBQ grill!
