Guanaja, Feb 2013

tranquility.
We have never seen such clear water while sailing. With no wind or sea swell we could see the coral below us at 20m! Just outside the reef we caught a small barracuda and anchored in Sandy bay, Guanaja in front of the Manatee bar.

We enjoyed a few beers and “bratwurst und sauerkraut” with the Saturday-regulars-local-crowd at the Manatee. During the day more boats came in to hide from the forecasted cold front. By sunset we were back at the boat, just as the Norther/cold front started. All went well during the night, not too strong wind except for a huge French Catamaran which anchored on top of us and gave Christelle a sleepless night keeping watch over the cat! (A couple of days later we had to pull in chain when they left- their anchor was under us)

Big French Cat on our stern.

Bonnaca, the little village built on a rock

we anchored at Bonnaca for the day shopping.

The next 2 weeks we spend on maintenance, rowing and snorkeling.
for now only rowing on the new wind surfer!

we anchored for a couple of days at James Cay for snorkeling.
