The newly pitched propeller was making a big difference to the motoring speed of Songerie.

We averaged more than 5 knots to drop anchor on the western end of Cayo de Aqua an hour before sunset.

The really calm weather held for two days, the water clarity was amazing and we spend a lot of time snorkelling on most beautiful reefs.

When the weather changed we moved into the big bay of Cayo de Aqua for more protection.

One sunset BBQ on the beach was perfect, the next attempt at sundowners on the beach was rapidly abandoned because of no-see-ums.

We were not checked into Los Roques and did not want to hang around too long….and the real attraction: Las Aves, was waiting to the west.
