Return to Barlevento, September 2013

Jaco, his Mutton Snapper and Russel of "Be as you are"
Wind was in the face 15 knots, seas less than 1 meter and we made two tacks to motor sail into the third bay of Barlovento.
S/V “Be as you are” has just arrived from Los Roques and was waiting with sushi. Soon after the hook set we took the dinghy over.

We had a lovely meal, bit of rum and a bit more and probably overstayed…. but it was nice.
Loverly beach "braai" with Russel and Nataliya
The next day we checked out the outside reef anchorages, but could not find a secure spot and ended up anchoring in a spot that our Doyle guide does not recommend.
This was on the north shore of Isla Oeste (West Island)
It is beautiful with a perfect beach and easy snorkelling from the boat.
Together with Nataliya and Russell, Jaco went diving on the east (open sea) side of the island.
Russell got two good snappers and Jaco one very nice mutton snapper.
A big fire on the beach with BBQ that night was spectacular.

"Be as you are " leaving for Bonaire.
Back at the third bay of Barlovento we smoked some of the fish and the next day “Be as you are“left for Bonaire.
Entrance to the Sailors sign post.
Jaco engraving our name plaque on a Coral rock.
The next few days we checked out every one of three, then two and finally first bay as we moved out.
We found a kind of cruisers sign post and put our engraved coral plaque among the others.
