Chaser II at Curricai, Sotavento

Lovely beach at Curricai.
Together with Chaser II we motor sailed from Barlovento to Sotavento. We had very big fish hook ups. One +- 15kg wahoo was alongside, after one hour fight, when the line parted!
First anchor spot was off Isla Palmeras where Josef, Kristina and little Martina on SV " Martiques" joined us later.
The men went hunting and returned successful, especially  Josef.

Las palmas anchorage

The next day we all moved to anchor off isla Curricai.
From here various expeditions to diving spots were undertaken for the next few days.
Jaco & Phil helped a local sportfisher boat to retrieve their lost anchor and got some ice to say thanks! That sundowners was lots of iced rum punch.

Scrawled filefish

According to Jaco's friend GOOGLE,
"This Blue-Banded Coral Shrimp (Stenopus Tenuirostris) is always in the holiday spirit with its red and white striped claws which look exactly like candy canes. In the wild you can find them cleaning parasites and other unsightly gunk off of fish… at no charge! This really is the most merry of all creatures. Volunteering and spreading holiday joy to all! "
Orangespotted filefish
Very big Sailors choice.
not for today's pot, might look for you another day!
a good day at the office! Lobster and beautiful Mutton snapper.

Seagulls feed time at the stern while Jaco is gutting the fish.

Paella with lobster, fish and conch.
The good life! FLTR Martina, Kristina, Josef, Jaco, Phil, Yvonne and Chritelle behind the camera..again.
Christelle "captured" a monkey on the beach!
Good friends

Very interesting BBQ?
A very rare occurrence at Aves: 7 boats at anchor but only one night.
Tropical wave coming past.
